Participate in Buckroe Planning Sessions

A planning firm with experience in the development of urban parks is assisting in the planning efforts for Lots B, the city-owned blocks in the Buckroe area.

The city welcomes your input.  Public meetings regarding the planning of Buckroe will take place October 3 through October 5 in the Veteran's Conference Room on the first floor of the Ruppert Sargent Building, 1 Franklin Street.  The first two days will be public open houses from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

These open houses are an opportunity for the public to see what the consultants are working on, ask questions, and comment on that work, and share their own thoughts and ideas.

On the last day there will be a public presentation at the same location from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

As well as for advertising in the Daily Press, the City of Hampton should be commended for doing an extraordinary job of using many different other methods to get the word out about the recent Buckroe Planning Meetings including, advertising by announcing them at a Council meeting and by using Channel 47, by using signs placed on different street corners throughout the city and on the overpass at LaSalle Avenue, and by using a city-wide mass phone calling method.
