What next, Hampton?

The city of Hampton with its development adventures certainly has enough intrigues to keep Daily Press readers well entertained. From the downtown hotel at the expense of city taxpayers to designating public land in Buckroe Beach for private development in the face of overwhelming public opposition, one wonders how the majority of Hampton's City Council ever gets voted in.

Development about the Coliseum Mall is now proceeding, and an intrigue has yet to arise. Then again, I recently drove along the Hampton Roads Center Parkway and noticed they are clearing out the cemetery that lies north of the coliseum area, apparently for housing, according to the city's community plan.

Well, I guess that is one group of residents that will not be rolling their development plans over. I just wonder where they are putting the bodies.
