It's not over yet

Subsequent to the city sponsored meeting on Oct. 11 to discuss the Buckroe Beach Master Plan in general and the Bay Front Initiative in particular, many people have thought that the petition drive to preserve the green space at Buckroe Beach has ended. It has not.

The petition drive, which currently has more than 8,000 signatures, will continue even beyond the presenting of the petition to the Hampton City Council at its November meeting.  We will not end the petition drive until every Hampton citizen has had the opportunity to decide if they want these precious 10 acres to be used for a housing or an extension of the existing Buckroe Beach Park.  For more information on where you can sign the petition please log on to our Web site at www.buckroebeach.org.

The reality of Buckroe

Once again, the green space people are choosing to see only what they would like to see.  The presentation given by the city on the Buckroe Master Plan was exactly what they said it would be.  A presentation for clarification of the plan.

Thank you planning and city staff who did a great job of organizing, arranging and giving the city the chance to look at what is truly being planned for Buckroe.  I urge citizens to go online to see what the city is really offering: hampton.gov/community-plan/implementation.html.
